What it is. A mild acid found naturally in citrus fruit, made commercially by fermentation.
Why it is used. Adds tartness, balances flavour and helps preserve. One of the most used additives in food.

Ingredientes água, sumo de maçã: à base de concentrado, polpa de maçã, açúcar, regulador de acidez: ácido cítrico, ácido ascórbico (vitamina C) e edulcorante: glicosídeos de esteviol. Teor de frutos: no minimo 50%. Consumir de preferência antes do fim de: ver topo. Uma vez aberto conservar no frigorífico.
